OUR MISSION
Empowering Families & Communities
One Less Orphan empowers families and communities to address financial, developmental and emotional needs of orphans.
There are an estimated 153 Million orphans in the world—a number equal to almost half the population of the United States. It is estimated that anywhere from 80% to 90% of these children are what is called “social orphans.” They are in care because family members are no longer able to provide for their basic needs.
OUR CURRENT PROJECT
Annual Adoption Seminar
Since 2023, One Less Orphan has been hosting adoption seminar every spring in Teaneck, New Jersey for those families who are intereted in adopting a child. At the seminar, attendees:
Hear powerful testimonies from adoptive families
Listen to a representative from HOLT International about the global orphan crisis
Gain practical guidance within the adoption process
Discover how they can take meaningful steps forward--whether now or in the future
Have opportunities to connect with other like-minded families
In 2023, One Less Orphan raised donations to support KyungAn orphanage in Andong, South Korea.
We reached 100% of donation goal ($75,000) and KyungAn orphanage completed their renovation project in February 2024. Thank you for showing your generosity!

“ Orphans are easier to ignore before you know their names. They are easier to ignore before you see their faces. It is easier to pretend they’re not real before you hold them in your arms. But once you do, everything changes. ”
